My
first artistic accolade was from my first grade teacher, who
made a fuss over a drawing I had created just to pass the time.
I never forgot that moment, and she became the major influence
that kept art in the forefront of my life and career. I started
studying in high school, taking painting and photography and
later in college studied Advertising Design receiving a BFA.
I
worked as a graphic artist for several years but as the demands
of home and family came upon me, I switched over to a computer
career. All the while, always finding ways to express my creativity
some how in my work. I did not pursue any serious individual
art on my own until I moved to Western Massachusetts in 2005.
I
began to use my camera to capture the unique landscape and lifestyle
of New England, which was so different from my upbringing. I
kept my camera on me at all times, to capture the moments as
I saw them.
In
2008 I took a watercolor class and have not stopped painting
since. I love to use my own photographs as subject matter for
my paintings. I try to capture unique moments in time that others
miss and I am always attracted to the way light plays with subjects.
I photograph our garden and local images of our small New England
town and then I set them in watercolors. I paint with a vibrant
color technique, similar to my original photographs. I love
color and light and you will see that in most of my work.
Formerly
from New York City, I now reside in New Salem, Western Massachusetts
with my husband Hugh and our cat Mickey and our dog Bacigalupe.
I am
also a photographer (click

and a minister. I hope to make a retirement career of painting
and acting.
